You have asked for it. We have always listened. Even though almost all the components are needed to be replaced, it will be possible to upgrade from MK2/S to MK3. Unfortunately, the price is not very upgrade-friendly and you could practically build a second MK2 from the leftovers.
If you don't need a full MK3 upgrade, you can use our upgrade to MK2.5. It offers most of the important new features of MK3 and is significantly cheaper.
If your MK2S was bought during the last 30 days before MK3 release (September 23, 2017), you will get a 100 USD discount.
Upgrade kit contains:
- Magnetic MK52 Heatbed 24v with powder coated PEI spring steel print sheet
- Bondtech extruder gears
- Filament Sensor
- P.I.N.D.A. 2 with thermistor
- Noctua fan 24v
- EINSY RAMBo motherboard with Trinamic 2130 drivers
- 505015 blower fan
- PSU 24v
- new dural frame with 1 cm more z height and 16 holes
- E3D V6 Hotend assembly 24v
- 3030 extrusions
- front and rear plate
- 300g EasyABS filament
if you're upgrading from MK2, you will NOT get MK2S parts like u-bolts and new rods/bearings, you have to get them separately.
G-code files to print on your MK2/S will be available prior to the release on Prusa i3 printable parts.
You can check out what is new in the MK3 release article on PrusaPrinters.org.
